Jo Ann Julien Healing Art March 1 - March 30, 2007

Studio Vivace is pleased to announce an exhibition of paintings titled "Art Heals", featuring Jo Ann Julien. The exhibition opens March 1 through March 30, 2007 at Civic Center Art Gallery in Encinitas. A reception for the artist will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 5 to 7 pm. The gallery is located at 505 South Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas, California and it is open from 7:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday.

Artist Jo-Ann Julien has created a fusion of art and healing in her series of acrylic chakra paintings. “Their bright, vibrant colors and use of spiral energy are designed to still the mind and stir the spirit resulting in enhanced healing and higher consciousness,” stated Ms. Julien, in reference to her paintings. “In ancient Hindu yogic philosophy there are seven points that run down the central column of the subtle body leading from the base towards the crown chakra. Each chakra point has its own color and symbol. The seven charkas link to the seven colors of the rainbow. Each chakra governs its own area, for example, the throat chakra color is a lapis blue and governs communication,” Julien said. “The paintings utilize a complex web of imagery which relates to my own interpretation of spirituality and healing.”
